Workword

Workword helps foreign and migrant workers learn the Dutch and English they need on the job β not generic tourist phrases, but the vocabulary, dialogues, and listening skills that matter in real workplaces. General language apps often miss the tools, safety instructions, customer interactions, and daily routines of welding halls, kitchens, meat-processing floors, and other labour-intensive environments. Workword is built for that gap. WHO ITβS FOR Learners People who are new to a workplace language and need fast, practical progress: understanding a supervisor, following a safety briefing, taking an order, or naming the right tool. Lessons are short (typically a few minutes), audio-first where it helps, and designed for adults β professional in tone, not childish gamification. Employers and teams Companies that hire foreign staff and want faster onboarding, clearer communication, and stronger safety-language readiness. Employers can invite learners with a code or invite link and follow completion in a privacy-bounded way. WHAT YOU LEARN Each sector track focuses on workplace reality: β’ Vocabulary β tools, materials, actions, roles, and safety terms β’ Situational dialogues β realistic scenarios with colleagues, supervisors, and customers β’ Safety-critical language β priority phrases and warnings early in the path β’ Listening practice β workplace-style audio to build comprehension Alongside workplace paths, Workword offers an optional A1 Official Exam Prep track for your target language: β’ Dutch β practice aligned to the Basisexamen inburgering format (reading, speaking, and knowledge of Dutch society) β’ English β practice aligned to Cambridge A2 Key (formerly KET), with an A1-band pass goal on Workword mocks Exam Prep includes general A1 lexicon, grammar, skill modules, and timed mock exams. Passing a Workword mock is practice only β it is not an official DUO or Cambridge result. You book and take the real exam with the official provider. You choose a target language (Dutch or English at launch focus) and a source/UI language suited to common hiring demographics. SECTORS Workword starts with tracks such as welding, hospitality, and butchery / meat processing, and expands into additional workplace paths (for example construction, logistics, healthcare support, and related fields) as content grows. BUILT FOR REAL WORK Content is structured for real jobs and intended to stay practical as tools and terminology change. Offline-friendly design matters: many learners study on breaks, commutes, or sites with limited connectivity. Privacy matters too β especially when an employer is involved. Class Schedule
Read full descriptionHide full description
MiniTable is a class schedule for iPhone and iPad. No ads, no account β and your schedule works offline, too. You add a class: name, color, day, time. That is it. When you open the app you are on today, and one swipe takes you to the next day. What it does The day view lists the classes of one day underneath each other, each in its own color. A row of weekdays at the top lets you jump instead of swiping. The week view shows the whole week at once β side by side on iPad, one after another on iPhone. Every class can carry a note: the room, the teacher, whatever you must not forget. Tap the class and the note opens underneath it. Reminders arrive shortly before a class starts, if you turn them on. The Home Screen widget shows the next day and its classes without opening the app. The to-do list sits right next to your schedule β for homework and everything else you need to get done. Up to four open to-dos work without Pro; MiniTable Pro removes the limit. MiniTable speaks thirteen languages: German, English, French, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, Turkish, Dutch, Arabic, Indonesian, Japanese, Korean and Polish. You can switch in Settings, whatever your iPhone is set to. Light and dark follow your device, or your own choice. Weekends can be hidden β and it hides your country's weekend: where Friday and Saturday are the days off, those are the ones that go. MiniTable Pro A one-time purchase unlocks all seven extras for good: unlimited to-dos, schedule export as PDF or image, backup & restore, the Pro color pack, extra app icons, more widget sizes β small and on the Lock Screen β and a custom reminder time. Your data Your schedule, notes and to-dos stay on your device. MiniTable needs no account, shows no ads and does not track you. The app is made by one person. If something is missing or something is wrong, write to me β the address is in Settings.
