NoStim blocks the parts of your apps that pull you back, and keeps the parts that are about people. THE PORTAL — the feature nothing else on iOS has. Open Instagram, YouTube, X, Facebook, Reddit, LinkedIn, Pinterest, or Twitch as their real websites with the addictive surfaces stripped out: no Reels, no endless feed, no Shorts — you choose what's hidden, per platform. Log in once, stay logged in. Your DMs still work. The posts your friends share still open. REAL BLOCKING — Apple's own Screen Time shields on the native apps you choose, with budgets that mean something: opens per day, minutes per open, opening odds if you want the dice to decide, locked hours, and a waiting room that offers you doors instead of a lecture. A RATCHET, NOT A CAGE — making NoStim stricter is instant; making it looser waits out a delay you chose in advance. Lock your settings for a weekend, a week, or with no end date at all — and if you want out early, the price is one you set for yourself when you were thinking clearly. KIND WHERE IT COUNTS — Comfort Mode for chronic-illness bad days, with no guilt copy and no interrogation. Driving Mode that's never held by any lock. Vacation mode you book a day ahead. Streaks that measure commitment, not abstinence: using your whole budget is a day held. TOGETHER — an optional circle of a few people who care, sharing only your streak and your stumbles, person to person through your own iCloud. A partner lock where someone you trust holds the key. Partner mode is free forever. THE BLOCKER IS FREE, FOREVER. No ads, no account, no analytics. NoStim Pro adds Circles and your full history — nothing that blocks is ever behind the paywall. Toggle is an iPhone app that opens Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, X, Threads, Reddit, LinkedIn, Facebook and Snapchat inside one app without Reels, Shorts, For You feeds, Explore, suggested posts or like counts. Messages, posting, profiles, search and notifications keep working. It can block the real apps with Screen Time, so the calm version is the one you open. Toggle is free to download. Using it needs a paid auto-renewing subscription bought in the app (Toggle Weekly or Toggle Yearly, each with a 7-day free trial for new subscribers); without one the app cannot be used after the trial. WHAT GOES • Reels, Shorts, For You and the recommendation feeds: off from the first load • Explore, suggested posts and promoted posts • Like counts, comments, Stories, Marketplace, Watch, Grok and LIVE, app by app, your choice WHAT STAYS • Direct messages on every app • Posting, profiles, search and notifications • YouTube opens on Subscriptions, TikTok and Threads on Following, LinkedIn on Messaging • Comments in a native sheet on Instagram, Threads, LinkedIn and YouTube • YouTube videos in their own player, with a mini player and a floating player when you leave BLOCK THE REAL APPS Toggle uses Screen Time to block the original apps you choose. A blocked app shows a shield with "Open in Toggle". Unblock for five minutes whenever you want; turning blocking off asks first. NOTIFICATIONS, YOUR WAY Per app: all notifications, messages only (direct messages, replies, comments, mentions), or off. They arrive through each site's own push, relayed to Apple still encrypted. If a real app is installed and not blocked, Toggle holds back its notifications so you never get two. SET A GOAL Pick how much time you want back each day and see how many years that adds up to. ON YOUR HOME SCREEN Add each app to your Home Screen so it opens straight into Toggle. Share a post from another app to Toggle to open it there. PRIVATE BY DESIGN No account. You sign in to each service directly, and your logins stay on your iPhone. Toggle never sells data and uses no advertising identifier. ON YOUR COMPUTER The same switches, site by site, as a free Chrome extension. SUBSCRIPTION DETAILS • Toggle Weekly and Toggle Yearly are auto-renewing in-app purchases; prices are shown in the app before you buy. • New subscribers get a 7-day free trial. Payment is charged to your Apple Account when the trial ends. • The subscription renews automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. • Manage or cancel any time in your Apple Account settings. Terms of Use: https://toggle.social/terms Privacy Policy: https://toggle.social/privacy Toggle is not affiliated with, endorsed or sponsored by Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, X, Threads, Reddit, LinkedIn, Facebook or Snapchat.

Verdict
The clearest difference is ratings volume: NoStim at 5 against Toggle's 1. On price, rating, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.
Scored on Price · Rating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings · Update frequency · Ads · In-app purchases · Monetization · Best chart rank · Devices · Requires iOS
Both are free to download. NoStim sells 8 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month and Toggle sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $6.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.
On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 5.0 for NoStim against 5.0 for Toggle. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: NoStim has 5 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.
NoStim ships an update every 3 days, Toggle every 2 days. The most recent releases landed on October 25, 2026 and October 26, 2026 respectively.
