Cut List Optimizer

SawKit works out how to cut your parts from full sheets of plywood, MDF or melamine with the least waste โ and then tells you the order to make the cuts in. Type your cut list the way you'd say it. 15 3/16. 3/4". 4' 6". Millimetres if that's your shop. SawKit reads all of it, and a unit written on a number always wins, so you can mix imported hardware into a metric project without doing sums. WHAT IT DOES โข Works out the layout across as many sheets as it takes, and picks the best of twelve different packing strategies for your particular list. โข Respects the grain. Say which way it runs on the sheet and on the part, and parts that must follow it are turned to match โ never guessed from which number you typed first. โข Accounts for the blade. Kerf and edge trim are part of the calculation, not an afterthought. โข Gives you the cut order. Every pass runs edge to edge across the piece in your hands, numbered, so you can work through it at the saw. โข Prints. A page per sheet plus a shopping list with prices and a total, in black and white that survives a workshop printer. โข Runs on iPad, iPhone and Mac, side by side or one at a time. โข Works with no signal at all. Workshops are usually the worst room in the building for that. FREE INCLUDES Everything above on screen: the whole calculation, the drawing, and the calculators. Up to 25 parts, three projects and one kind of stock. PRO ($24.99, one payment) Unlimited parts, projects and stock. PDF export and printing. The cut order. Your own stock list with prices. Your projects on every device you own. SHOP CALCULATORS โ always free Board feet with cost. Purchase allowance, done properly: waste comes out of what you buy, not what you need, so 15% waste means buying about 18% more โ not 15%. Project cost with markup. PRIVACY Nothing is collected. No account, no analytics, no tracking, no server. Your cut lists are yours and they stay on your devices.
Kesim

Tell Kesim the parts you need and the material you have. It works out how to get them out of the least stock, then shows you the exact order of saw cuts that produces the layout. Built for people who cut sheet goods on a table saw, a track saw or a panel saw. WHY THE LAYOUTS ACTUALLY WORK Guillotine cuts only. Every cut runs edge to edge, because that is what a saw physically does. A denser layout that needs a cut to stop halfway across the sheet is worthless to the person holding the saw, so Kesim never produces one. Real kerf accounting. The blade turns a few millimetres into dust at every pass. Kesim subtracts a full kerf between neighbouring parts and squares off your edge trim before placing anything. Ignoring that is the classic way to finish a job one part short. Grain locking. A part whose grain must run one way is never quietly turned to make the numbers look better. WHAT YOU GET โข A layout for every sheet, with the yield and the cost โข A step-by-step cut sequence โ rip, then crosscut, in order โข An offcut rack: save the leftovers worth keeping, and the next job cuts from material you already own before it opens a new sheet โข Sheet goods and linear stock โ plywood, MDF, glass and sheet metal, or pipe, timber, extrusion and moulding โข Inches with fractions or millimetres, whichever your shop uses โข PDF and CSV export, so the plan goes to the shop printer PRIVATE BY DEFAULT No account. No sign-up. No analytics, no tracking, no ads. Your projects are stored on your device and never sent to us โ we run no servers. Optional iCloud backup keeps a copy in your own iCloud account, and it is off until you turn it on. FREE AND PRO Free plans jobs of up to 10 parts, which covers a shelf or a small box. Kesim Pro โ monthly, yearly with a free week, or a one-time lifetime purchase โ unlocks jobs beyond the free limit, the offcut rack, PDF and CSV export, several stock sizes per job, and a more thorough search. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the period ends. Manage or cancel in your Apple Account settings.
