Daily Verse Widget vs Pew

Open Gracewell and today's verse is already waiting — one comforting KJV passage set on a painted sky, chosen for the day and ready before your coffee cools. No feeds, no accounts, no endless scroll. Just Scripture, beautifully set. Gracewell is a daily Bible verse app in the King James Version, built around how people actually reach for Scripture: by need. Anxious before a meeting? Open Anxiety. Grateful on a quiet Sunday? Open Gratitude. Twelve topics, 132 hand-picked passages and 36 original written prayers — all bundled, all offline, all on a serif-set reading screen that treats the text with the reverence it deserves. WHAT YOU GET • Today's verse full-screen the moment you open the app — the widget shows the same verse, so home screen and app always agree • Scripture on your Lock Screen and Home Screen widgets, over six painted skies you pick yourself • 132 KJV passages sorted by twelve needs — Hope, Peace, Anxiety, Strength, Comfort, Courage and more — plus full-text search when you remember the words but not the reference • 36 original prayers for morning, evening, gratitude, strength, peace and guidance • A designed share card for any verse — send it to a friend at exactly the moment they need it • A gentle reminder at the minute you choose, so the day starts with Scripture instead of headlines PERFECT FOR • Believers who want Scripture first thing, before email and news get there • Anyone in an anxious season who needs the right verse now, not chapter four of a reading plan • Group chats, grandparents and church friends who love receiving a beautiful verse card • KJV readers who want the traditional text, word for word WHY NOT JUST A BIG BIBLE APP? Full Bible apps are wonderful for study — and overwhelming at 7 a.m. Gracewell does one thing: it puts a single, well-chosen verse in front of you each day, on your lock screen, in a form you will actually read and happily pass on. Open, read, breathe, go. PRIVATE BY DEFAULT No account, no sign-in, no tracking of what comforts you. Verses, prayers and favorites live on your device and work fully offline. FULL ACCESS Everything in Gracewell is unlocked by one plan, Gracewell Plus: Weekly at $4.99/week, Yearly at $24.99/year with a 3-day free trial, or Gracewell Lifetime — a $49.99 one-time purchase that never renews. Subscriptions auto-renew until cancelled in Settings. Add the widget tonight — tomorrow's verse will be waiting when you wake. Record the sermon. Read it later. Put the phone face down on the pew and lock the screen. It keeps recording. When you get home there's the audio, a transcript you can search, and somewhere to write down what you actually thought about it. A WHOLE SERVICE An hour. Two hours. Screen off, in a pocket, at the bottom of a bag. The recording doesn't care. TRANSCRIPTS, WITHOUT THE UPLOAD Speech becomes text on the phone itself, in 11 languages. The audio never gets uploaded anywhere, including to us. SCRIPTURE When someone quotes a verse, Pew catches the reference and shows you the passage. Public domain translations for 21 languages are already on the device, so this works with no signal at all. A few translations are still under copyright and we can't include them; those open in bible.com instead. NOTES Yours go right next to the transcript, not in some other app you have to remember to open. SEARCH Everything you've ever recorded. By word, by who was preaching, by church. AI NOTES, IF YOU WANT THEM A summary, an outline, and the lines worth keeping. This is the only part that sends anything off your phone, and what it sends is the transcript text. Not the audio. It stays off until you turn it on, and you get told exactly what happens before you agree to it. Three of these are free. After that it's part of the subscription. FOR PASTORS A second mode for planning ahead: series, passages, and the notes that go with them. WHAT ISN'T IN HERE No account, nothing to sign up for, no ads, nobody else's trackers. We do count which screens get used, with no name on it. That switch is in Settings. The interface is in 35 languages and follows whatever your phone is set to. You can also just pick one in Settings.
