Make practicing fun. Log your practice, connect with a community, rank up on leaderboards, keep a streak alive, and tune without leaving the app. LOG A SESSION IN SECONDS Start a live timer, or enter it after the fact. Minutes practised, how it went on a one-to-five scale, what you focused on, and which pieces and scales you touched. Split a long session into warm-up, scales, technique and repertoire. YOUR REPERTOIRE, TRACKED Every piece, étude and scale in one place — composer, difficulty, and where it stands. Move finished pieces to Past and keep the history you built. A REAL TUNER, DRONE AND METRONOME Chromatic tuner with A4 adjustable from 440 to 445 Hz and an in-tune range you set. A sustained drone on any note to tune against. Metronome from 15 to 360 BPM with custom time signatures, accented downbeats and tap tempo. Audio is analysed on your device — never recorded, never uploaded. STREAKS AND GOALS THAT FIT Set a daily target and how many days a week you're aiming for. Miss one and a streak freeze covers you — life happens, and quitting shouldn't be the penalty. STATS WORTH LOOKING AT Minutes by week, month and all time. Which pieces are eating your practice, how consistent you've been, and whether this month beat the last one. Weekly and Monthly Wrapped, ready to share. CLIMB THE RANKS Six tiers — Student, Prodigy, Professional, Soloist, Virtuoso, Maestro — earned from consistency, scales, repertoire and performances. There is a secret seventh. FRIENDS, NUDGES AND BATTLES Add friends, see their sessions in a feed, nudge someone whose streak is slipping, and challenge them to a head-to-head streak battle. Friends and global leaderboards for streak, rank and notes. 46 INSTRUMENTS Strings, woodwind, brass, keys, guitar family, percussion and voice — violin to euphonium, piano to turntables. Play more than one? Track them all. HOW IT WORKS 1. Pick your instrument and set a daily target. 2. Practise — start the timer, or log it once you're done. 3. Watch the streak, the stats and the rank build. In English, Spanish, Korean, Chinese, Vietnamese and Arabic. Free to use. No ads, and we never sell your data. Tutti Pro adds advanced statistics, the full rank breakdown, unlimited friends, battles and leaderboards, and unlimited repertoire, notes and performances. Interval is a daily practice journal for whatever you play. Start a session and the timer runs. A metronome, a drone, notes and voice memos are one tap away without leaving it — so you never stop practicing to go and find a tool. Guitar, bass and ukulele also get a tuner and scale diagrams drawn along the neck. WHAT YOU GET • A practice timer that keeps running while you use everything else • A metronome with four click sounds and its own volume • A drone in any of twelve keys • Notes and voice memos, to catch an idea while you are playing • A tuner, on the instruments that have strings to tune • Scales, chords and short theory written for people teaching themselves • A calendar that fills in as you play, and a streak that does not shame you PICK WHAT YOU PLAY Guitar, bass, piano or keyboard, ukulele, or anything else. The tools follow your choice. Nothing pretends to be something it is not: there is no keyboard diagram, and no sheet music. LEARNING WITH A TEACHER? If your teacher uses Interval, they give you a six-digit code. That is the whole setup — no email, no password. Your teacher can set the week's practice: a few tasks, a time on each, and a line about what to listen for. Tap start and you are in the usual session screen, with each task keeping its own time against its own target. It saves to your journal by itself, and your teacher sees the time you put in without you having to tell them. YOUR PRACTICE STAYS YOURS No account to make, no analytics, no tracking, no ads. Unless you connect to a teacher, there is no Interval server for your practice to go to at all. What you write stays on your phone unless you choose to share a page with your teacher, and your recordings never leave it at all. You can disconnect, or delete your account and everything sent from it, from Settings at any time. A copy of your journal is kept in your own iCloud so a lost phone does not cost you your history. You can switch that off in one tap. Recordings are never included. INTERVAL PRO Interval Pro is an optional auto-renewing subscription that unlocks your full practice history, the guided drills and reference, and the tempo trainer. It is $7.99 per month, or $49.99 per year with a 7-day free trial. Payment is charged to your Apple Account when you confirm the purchase. The subscription renews automatically unless it is canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can manage or cancel it in your App Store account settings. Verdict
The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Interval at none against Tutti's 4. Interval also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.8) and review sentiment (100% vs 87%). Tutti's advantage is ratings volume (63 vs 1). On price, update cadence, ads and device support there is nothing between them.
