Folioki
Read full descriptionHide full description
Read the original, even above your level. Open a book or an article in the language you're learning: when a word or sentence stops you, Folioki's AI translates and explains it. Save new words as flashcards, and spaced repetition helps you remember them long after you close the book. Bring your own reading Choose a novel, a news story, or a blog post you'd read anyway. Folioki opens: • EPUB, FB2, and PDF books • Web articles from a link or straight from the Share menu • Pages of a paper book, scanned with your camera • Text you paste in: a page, a letter, song lyrics No book at hand? The catalog has free classics, sorted by level. Your library and reading progress sync across your devices. Get help with the hard parts Tap any word, phrase, or sentence to see a translation without leaving the page. When a translation isn't enough, ask for a breakdown: the AI explains the meaning, grammar, and context in plain words, so you understand why the sentence says what it says. Still unsure? Ask a follow-up question in your own words. You keep reading the original text, and a dense paragraph no longer costs you an evening with a dictionary. Turn new words into flashcards Save a word or phrase straight from the text, and Folioki writes the card for you in seconds: • Translation and example sentence • The sentence where you found the word • Dictionary form, inflections, and pronunciation Want a simpler example or a more precise translation? Ask the AI to rewrite the card, or edit it yourself. Want to get ahead of a chapter? Open Words ahead: Folioki lists the new words waiting in the pages ahead, already translated. Mark the ones you know and tap Learn on the rest. The cards are written for you. Remember what you learn Folioki schedules your reviews with spaced repetition, a method based on research into how memory works. Each word comes back when you're about to forget it. Every correct answer pushes the next review further out, and words you struggle with return sooner. Your review time goes to the words that need it. Reviews ask you to recall each word from memory. Recall takes more effort than recognition, and that effort is what makes words stick. You decide how many new words to learn each day and how firmly you want to remember them. One day, a word you saved turns up in a new text, and you read past it without stopping. Plans Folioki is free to start, with about a dozen AI breakdowns a day. Plus gives you several times the daily limit and a stronger AI model. Premium raises the limit again and gives more thorough answers to your follow-up questions. Narra is a reader that brings your own books to life. Add a file — EPUB, FB2, TXT, UMD — or send a book to Narra from another app, and Narra reads it with you: it finds the characters, paints portraits and a cover, and narrates the book aloud. What's inside • Reader. Paged and scrolling modes, fonts, themes, table of contents, bookmarks, volume-button page turns. • Audiobook. Chapter-by-chapter narration, background playback, resume where you left off. • Characters. Names are underlined in the text: tap one for a portrait, a biography and their role in the plot. • Conversation. Talk to a character about what you have read so far, with no spoilers from later chapters. • Scenes. Key moments become illustrations. • Library. Your own books and a built-in shelf of classics, reading progress, back to the page you left. No account is required — no email, no password. To analyse a book Narra uploads it to its own server, and the upload and its analysis are deleted automatically a week after you last open the book.
