Tap play and you are already in the middle of it: a radiation alarm going off in Sweden, a hijacker stepping out of a plane into the dark, a lake in Cameroon killing a valley overnight. TrueReels is true history in short vertical episodes, most of them under two minutes, built as series so one story leads straight into the next. The first episode of most series is free. WHAT'S PLAYING RASPUTIN. The murder story everyone repeats, and the piece of forensic evidence it cannot survive. RADIUM. Young women painting glowing watch dials, told to sharpen the brush between their lips. THE ROMANOVS. Forty-four bone fragments beside a road, nearly ninety years late. POMPEII. The "mother" in the plaster cast was a man. It took ancient DNA to say so. TESLA. Three taps on a Colorado hillside that he took for Mars. TITANIC. An ice warning that passed through the ship's own radio room and was relayed onward. EARHART. One cryptic transmission, the last her support ship ever heard. DYATLOV PASS. Nine hikers, an intact tent, and knife cuts made from the inside. MARY CELESTE. Full sails, six months of food, ten people gone. THE WOW! SIGNAL. Seventy-two seconds in 1977. Silence since. TAMBORA. Snow in New England in July, and the volcano thousands of miles away that caused it. Also playing: Chernobyl, Edison, Houdini, D.B. Cooper, Roanoke, Alcatraz 1962, Lituya Bay, Tunguska, Lake Nyos, the Somerton Man and the Mandela Effect. Twenty-two series in all, each one running in order, so a subject unfolds the way a season does. WHERE IT COMES FROM A claim is not a fact here until we can quote the page that says so. Before a script is written, a fact sheet is built from inquiry records, archives, contemporaneous newspapers, published letters and peer-reviewed papers. Each fact carries a verbatim quote, and that quote has to be found in the source it came from or the fact is thrown out. Narration is then checked line by line against the sheet. Tap Sources & Context on any episode and read the citations yourself. HOW IT WATCHES Full screen, portrait, one thumb. Tap the right side of the picture for the next beat, the left side to go back. Fact cards come up during playback: the number, the date, the name, with the source underneath. Continue watching picks up where you stopped. My List holds the series you found at 1am until lunchtime. WHAT IT COSTS The first episode of most series is free and needs no subscription. A few series are still filling in from the middle and their opener is not published yet. All Access opens every episode in the library: $4.99 a week, $14.99 a month, or $39.99 a year. The annual plan starts with a 3-day free trial. The weekly and monthly plans have no trial. TrueReels All Access is an auto-renewable subscription. Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase, or, on the annual plan, when the 3-day free trial ends. Any unused portion of the free trial is forfeited if you buy a subscription before it ends. The subscription renews automatically unless auto-renewal is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, and your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can manage your subscription and turn off auto-renewal in your Apple ID account settings after purchase. Terms of Use: https://truereels.app/terms Privacy Policy: https://truereels.app/privacy

Verdict
The clearest difference is in-app purchases: KinoIS at none against TrueReels's 3. KinoIS also leads on update cadence (daily vs every 4 days) and device support (3 vs 1). On price, ads and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.
