You paid $4 for it. It sold for $58. So why did the payout say $41? FlipMargin logs the cost, the sale, and every fee in between, so the profit you see is the profit that landed. WHAT YOU TRACK Items go in when you buy them: photo, price, which store, which bin. From there they move to listed, then sold, or get written off when something never moves at all. There is a quick add mode for the days you come home with a full cart. The Death Pile screen shows everything still unlisted past whatever cutoff you pick. FEES Templates for eBay, Poshmark, Mercari, Whatnot, Depop, Etsy, Grailed, OfferUp, and Facebook Marketplace. Every rate is editable and you can save your own platform. Whatnot live commission and processing fees are in there too. Shipping gets two lines: what the buyer paid you, and what the label actually cost. That gap is worth watching. Each sale stores its own fee snapshot at the moment it sells. A platform can change its rates in March and your January numbers stay exactly where they were. TAXES A Schedule C annual summary, as a PDF you can hand your accountant. Full CSV of inventory, sales, and expenses. A 1099-K screen that sets platform totals next to your own books so you can find the gap yourself. Mileage uses the IRS standard rate for that year. Supplies, subscriptions, and storage map to Schedule C lines. YOUR DATA There is no account to make. Everything sits on your iPhone and syncs through your own iCloud, so we never see any of it. Export works on the free tier. If you stop paying for Pro, you can still pull every record out of the app. It all works with no signal, which matters in the back corner of a thrift store. Moving from another app? Import a CSV. PRICING Free covers 50 items, all the logging, and this month's net profit. Pro adds unlimited items, the full analytics, tax exports, multiple photos per item, and Death Pile alerts. $6.99 a month, $39.99 a year, or $99.99 once. FlipMargin is a bookkeeping app. It is not tax advice and it does not file anything for you. Talk to a professional about your actual return. Subscription terms: payment is charged to your Apple Account at confirmation of purchase. A subscription renews automatically unless you cancel it at least 24 hours before the current period ends. You can manage or cancel in your Apple Account settings. Terms of Use (EULA): https://www.apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula/

Tired of supplier prices creeping up while you lose track of what each item actually costs you? You do not need bloated enterprise software just to know what is left on the shelf and whether you made money today. Log stock in, log sales out, and let the app calculate your moving average unit cost on your iPhone—totally offline and with zero login walls. If you run a solo retail shop, set up a booth at weekend markets, flip items online, or make small-batch goods in a studio, you know the headache. One restock batch costs six dollars a unit, the next costs seven-fifty because shipping spiked, and suddenly your mental math is off. Spreadsheets are miserable to tap through on a phone in a storage room, and big POS systems demand a monthly fee and an account setup just to count boxes. Built for how small sellers actually work, this app lets you pull your iPhone from your pocket, tap a few times, and get back to work. You can also set up multiple independent ledgers for separate side hustles and switch between them in seconds. Here is how it fits into your daily routine. When a box of wholesale goods lands at your door, punch in the quantity and what you paid. The app immediately recalculates your moving average unit cost and updates your total stock value. When you make a sale at a craft fair, log the units sold and the selling price. Right away, you see how many units remain, your current average cost, and how your weekly and monthly revenue and unit counts are shaping up in plain English. Test the waters with the free version as long as you want. It lets you manage up to 10 items with no time limits. Every item stays usable forever—view, edit, log stock in and out, check weekly and monthly sales totals, and run full local backups and restores with backup reminders completely free. When your catalog grows, unlock Pro with a single one-time purchase—no subscriptions or recurring charges. Pro gives you unlimited items, CSV export, and deeper operational breakdowns. You get true gross profit tracking based on the moving average cost at the exact moment each sale happened, plus a profit leaderboard. If a past entry is missing a cost, the app flags it clearly so numbers are never skewed (profit figures are for operational reference, not formal tax or accounting statements). You also get side-by-side comparisons for the last 7 days vs. the prior 7 days, this week vs. the same point last week, this month vs. last month, and this year vs. last year, with the top 3 items driving gains or drops. Finally, Pro adds restock forecasting from your 7-day and 15-day sales velocity, alongside low-stock alerts and slow-mover warnings, generating estimates only when you have enough sales history rather than guessing. Let us be upfront about what this app is not. Made strictly for iPhone running iOS 17 or later (no iPad support), it is not a cash register or POS, does not generate invoices, and does not do tax prep or double-entry accounting. There is no multi-warehouse routing, cloud sync, multi-device syncing, AI barcode gimmicks, or modules for returns, physical stocktake audits, customer tabs, or churn alerts. Your business numbers stay locally on your device, working in a basement stockroom with zero cell service and no sign-ups or accounts. Version 1.6 adds an optional anonymous usage data toggle: decline it up front or turn it off anytime in settings with zero impact on how the app works, and it never collects device IDs, personal info, or tracking data. Download now and take control of your inventory and true costs today.

Verdict
FlipMargin and Inventory & Unit Cost Tracker are too close to call on the numbers: across 5 compared parameters — price, ads, in-app purchases and device support among them — neither pulls far enough ahead to decide it. What separates them is feature set and interface, not measurable difference.
Scored on Price · Rating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings · Update frequency · Ads · In-app purchases · Monetization · Best chart rank · Devices · Requires iOS
Both are free to download. FlipMargin sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $6.99 per month and Inventory & Unit Cost Tracker sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.
