Sort & Settle
Read full descriptionHide full description
Sort & Settle is a sorting puzzle with nothing hurrying you. Tap a tube to lift a block. Tap another to pour it. Fill each tube with one colour and the level is done. You can learn it in about eight seconds, and there is no way to lose it. BUILT FOR BRAINS THAT NEED SOMETHING TO DO This was designed with ADHD, ADD and autistic players in mind. That shaped real decisions, not just the description: โข No timers. Anywhere. Not on levels, not on menus. โข No streaks, no lives, no daily targets. Nothing expires while you're away. Put it down for a month and nothing is lost. โข Unlimited undo and unlimited hints, always, free. Nothing is counted and nothing runs out. โข No ads. Not now, not later. โข No notifications unless you turn them on. โข Your music, podcast or noise app keeps playing. Sort & Settle mixes with it and never interrupts. IT WILL TELL YOU IF A BOARD CAN'T BE WON Sorting puzzles let you paint yourself into a corner โ a position that's legal, still has moves, and cannot be finished. Most games leave you working at one until you give up and assume you're bad at it. This one checks after every move, and if the board really can't be won it says so and offers to step you back to where it still could be. You will never spend twenty minutes on something that was already lost. MADE TO BE SEEN โข Three themes โ Calm, Contrast and Playful โ switchable instantly, all free. โข Every colour was tested against simulated protanopia, deuteranopia and tritanopia, and adjusted until the hardest pair was comfortably distinguishable. โข When a board has more colours than a theme can keep clearly apart, distinct shapes appear on the blocks automatically. You don't have to know that setting exists. โข Full VoiceOver support, and the game names blocks by shape rather than colour, so the labels make sense whether or not you've seen the colours. โข Larger Text, Bold Text, Reduce Motion and Differentiate Without Colour all respected. โข Every action is a single tap on a large target. Nothing needs a drag. MORE ROOM WHEN YOU WANT IT Turn on Extra Spare Tube and every board in the game gets more forgiving. It isn't called easy mode, because it isn't one โ it's just more room to think. WORKS ANYWHERE No account. No sign-up. No internet needed, ever. The app has no networking code in it at all. If you're signed into iCloud your place follows you between iPhone and iPad; if you're not, everything still works and stays on your device. FREE, THEN ONE PAYMENT Levels 1โ25 are free. One purchase unlocks every level after that, forever, on all your devices. It's a single payment, not a subscription, and it buys levels โ never hints, never themes, never accessibility settings. Hundreds of hand-paced levels before the board stops growing, then it keeps going.
Palmo
Read full descriptionHide full description
Palmo is a puzzle about regions. The board holds numbered squares; each one starts a patch, and its number is how many cells that patch takes: a 4 takes four cells, a 9 takes nine. Close the whole board and the level is done. ONE RULE Touch a numbered square, then take neighboring cells one at a time. The counter on the square drops with every cell. At zero the patch settles and seals itself. There is no fifth cell for a 4; the board will not let you take it. Cells are neighbors edge to edge, never corner to corner. THREE EXTRA STROKES A settled region can be unpicked: hold your finger on it until it comes apart, then draw it again. Each unpicking burns one of your three extra strokes. Whatever is left when the board closes turns into stars, so three stars mean every region was right the first time. WALLS AND STONES A wall cuts between two cells and no region crosses it. A stone is never taken: it stays outside the weave and the cells around it have to manage without it. The board teaches both by itself, in the level where they start to matter. ONE SOLUTION Every board in Palmo has exactly one correct weave. A solver went through all 120 levels and found no second answer. That is the point: a board with two answers says think and means guess. NO WORDS ON THE BOARD The playing screen carries no text. The lesson is in how the board is built: a new idea arrives in the level that will not come out without it. If you stop, Palmo points at a cell instead of explaining it, and the pointer comes from the solver, not from a hunch. FEATURES - 120 levels across 10 chapters - One solution per board, counted with a solver - Plays offline, no account, no sign-in - Six languages: English, Turkish, German, Spanish, French, Portuguese - Ads between levels; a one-time purchase removes them Same family as Fillomino and Shikaku: the number tells you how big the region has to be. Level 1 is a three by three board with a single 9. The whole rule is in there.

Verdict
The clearest difference is ads: Sort & Settle at none against Palmo's shown. Palmo's advantage is iOS requirement (15.0 vs 17.0). On price, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.
