LayoutQ
Read full descriptionHide full description
LayoutQ turns your numbers into decisions at the lane. Free; no ads or freemium features. Drilling layouts: Enter your PAP, ball speed, rev rate, and axis tilt and rotation. For a catalog ball whose core type is on file, the app suggests a Dual Angle Layout, shown as drilling angle, pin-to-PAP, and VAL angle, with the reasoning behind each number. Ask for an earlier or later break, a smoother or more angular shape, or more or less flare. Or step the numbers yourself under Explore and watch the shape change. Show the same layout in Dual Angle or Storm VLS notation, whichever your pro shop reads. Every layout is a suggestion; your pro shop confirms fit and layout and decides what gets drilled. Your arsenal: Keep every ball you own with its drilled layout and current surface. LayoutQ groups a bag into six slots. See which slots your bag covers. Track games since the last cleaning, resurface, and oil extraction, and get told when a pad is due. Reset a ball to its factory finish. Ball catalog and recommendations: Browse more than 1,000 bowling balls, with coverstock, RG, and differential in the list and the core type, where one is on file, on each ball's page. Filter by brand or by performance level, from entry to high. Compare any two balls. Recommendations fill the gaps in your bag, each with a suggested layout and a starting surface. Choose whether suggested balls start duller, neutral, or shinier. Live sessions: Pick a house shot or a Kegel sport pattern, log shots as you bowl, and get feet and target moves, ball changes, and a polish suggestion where it would help, as the lane transitions. Score games frame by frame. Get a spare target for common leaves, from your own line. Save your home center so a session starts with its pattern already set, and share a summary with your coach when you are done. Your pro shop: Your shop can keep your fit specs and the balls they drill for you. Enter the claim code they hand you, or scan the counter QR while you wait, and the balls they drill land in your bag with their layouts. Tracking: Mount your phone on a tripod, calibrate the lane with four taps, and record a shot to see the ball's tracked path on an overhead lane view. Optional: The camera can estimate your slide-leg knee angle during a session. All camera processing happens on your phone; no video is uploaded. Privacy: No ads and no third-party trackers. Your data lives in your account; you can export it as a CSV from Profile and delete it from the app at any time. Product, brand and organization names, including Storm, VLS, Dual Angle, Kegel and USBC, are the trademarks of their owners, and LayoutQ uses them only to identify the balls, notations and rules it refers to. LayoutQ is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any of them, or by any ball manufacturer. Recommendations are informational; confirm layouts with a qualified pro shop before drilling.
