Sewing Pattern Translator
Read full descriptionHide full description
All your instructions in one place. And in your language. This app is a library for instructions as PDFs. Built for sewing, knitting and crochet, but it takes any instruction: the assembly guide for the shelf, the recipe, the user manual. You create folders, give every instruction an image and find it again on every one of your devices. If one is in a language you do not read, the app translates it. With the right craft terms and without distorting the pattern sheet. YOUR LIBRARY โข Folders, nested as deep as you like. By craft, by person, by project. โข Every instruction gets a preview image: from the camera, from your photos or a page from the PDF. Folders get an image too. โข Four traits such as women, child, sweater or knitting. Filter by them with one tap. โข Notes on every instruction: yarn, size, what you changed. Search by name and notes. โข Cards with large images or a compact list, as you prefer. โข PDFs come from Files, Mail, iCloud or from a finished translation. THE SAME ON ALL YOUR DEVICES The library lives in your iCloud, under your Apple ID, not on someone else's server. What you file on the iPad sits in the same place on the iPhone. New device, sign in with your Apple ID, and the library is there. TRANSLATE WITHOUT DISTORTING THE SHEET Ordinary PDF translators rebuild the page and redraw it in the process. In sewing that is fatal: a pattern sheet scaled by two percent no longer fits. This app works differently: โข No AI redraws your artwork. Pattern pieces, alignment marks, knitting charts and crochet charts come from the original untouched. โข The translated text sits where the old text sat, in the same box. โข Page size and scale stay. You print and tape the sheet exactly as before. THE RIGHT CRAFT TERMS A plain translator turns the German rechts into right. In a knitting pattern it means knit. It turns Maschenprobe into stitch sample instead of gauge. This app translates with a craft dictionary for sewing, knitting and crochet. You get the terms and abbreviations your patterns actually use. Centimetres become inches, in size charts as well. For crochet you choose between US and UK terms. HOW TO TRANSLATE 1. Pick your PDF from the library, from Files, Mail or iCloud. 2. Pick the language you want to read. The app detects the source language itself. 3. Start the translation. It runs on the server, so you can close the app. 4. File the finished instruction in your library with one tap. 17 LANGUAGES English, German, Spanish, French, Dutch, Danish, Norwegian, Swedish, Italian, Croatian, Polish, Russian, Portuguese, Czech, Finnish, Hungarian, Turkish. You translate between all of them and switch the app itself too. YOUR DOCUMENTS STAY YOURS Your library lives in your iCloud, not with us. A server does the translating; the source file and the result are deleted there after delivery. Patterns are protected by copyright, translated ones as well. That is why there is no way to publish one. WHAT IT CANNOT DO โข Keep the original typeface. The translated text is set in its own, easy to read font. Measurements and layout stay. โข Translate instructions over 50 MB or over 40 pages. TRY IT Five translations are free. Take the pattern that is annoying you right now, print the sheet and measure it. No trial that quietly turns into a subscription, and no charge without your consent. TERMS OF USE Apple's standard licence agreement applies: https://www.apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula/
Row Counter
Read full descriptionHide full description
Row Counter keeps your place while you knit or crochet, and it looks like the piece on your needles. Every row you count is a row of stitches on the screen: the fabric hangs from a needle, the newest row sits on it lit, and a pattern repeat closes with a ridge of purl bumps, the way it does in your hands. Counting a row is one tap on the fabric. Two wooden needles click, a soft tap lands in your hand, and the screen stays on for as long as the project is open, so you never unlock the phone with yarn in your fingers. One row too many? Back one. Phone in the bag? Lock the counter. Pattern repeats are counted the way charts number them: row 11 of 12, repeat 7, and the total underneath. A repeat can count along with the rows, so one tap moves both. Row reminders put the pattern's instructions on the row they belong to. Write "increase at each end, every 4 rows from row 3" once, and when row 19 comes up it is written under the count; "place a marker at row 96" waits quietly until then. Give a piece a target and the counter shows how far along it is, your pace in rows an hour, and roughly how long is left. The last row of the target takes the piece off the needles with a short chime. Every project has its own yarn colour, notes for needle size and pattern page, and the hours it has spent on the needles. Share a progress picture of the swatch with a friend who is waiting for the sweater. No account, no internet, nothing leaves the phone, and the privacy card on the store page reads Data Not Collected for the plain reason that there is none. Free: one project with its row counter, notes, target and pace, a complete row counter. Row Counter Pro costs once, for unlimited projects, counters side by side, pattern repeats and row reminders. It never renews.
