Noah
Read full descriptionHide full description
Most of us have read the Bible for years and still can't quote more than a few verses from memory. Noah is built for exactly that. READ IT. BUILD IT. KEEP IT. Each verse is learned in short steps. You read it, rebuild it word by word, fill in what's missing, and keep coming back to it until it stays with you. WHAT'S INSIDE - Short daily lessons laid out as a path you move along - Build each verse from a word bank, then recall it with fewer hints each time - Multiple choice and fill-in-the-blank questions that check you really know it - Verses come back for review so you don't lose what you've learned - Bible study notes next to the verses you're learning, so you understand what you memorize - A daily streak to keep you coming back WHO IT'S FOR People who grew up in church and want Scripture to actually stick. New believers looking for a simple place to start. Anyone who tried flashcards or a verse list before and gave up after a week. TRANSLATION Noah is in the in the Englsih and Spanish languages. In the English it uses in the KJV, WEB, ASV & BSB - public domain translations. In the Spanish it uses in the VBL - public domain translation. FROM THE MAKER Noah is built by one person in Prague. It's free to download and it's early, so if something is missing or broken, write to noahmemory.app@gmail.com. I read every message, and a lot of what you send ends up in the next update. "I have hidden your word in my heart, that I might not sin against you." Psalm 119:11 (WEB)
Pure Bible Focus

Pure Bible Focus is for learning a passage by heart. It shows you the King James text with some of it taken away, and gives it back the moment you ask. BUILD THE VERSE FROM ITS OWN WORDS Tap the quiz button and some of the verse's words go missing, set out beneath it as shuffled chips. Put them back in the order the verse says them. You begin with five words missing and move Easier or Harder โ three, five, eight, thirteen and on, each level about as much again as the last two โ and each verse remembers its own level. Every press brings different words and a fresh shuffle, so a verse is learned by heart rather than by where the chips sat. Repeated words share one chip, the blank to fill next is lit, and the words of Christ stay in red. PROGRESS A calendar of the days you practiced, and the verses you have not come back to. No percentages and no streak to break. THE SPEED READER One word at a time โ or two, or three โ comes to the middle of the screen and gives way to the next, so your eyes never move. Set the pace and the size, read a verse, a range or the whole chapter, and let it come round again until you stop it. ONE VERSE AT A TIME Put a single verse alone on the page, sized to fit, and swipe up for the next. HIDE THE WORDS YOU KNOW Choose the words to take out of the page โ any word the King James uses, or a wildcard like lamb* that covers lamb, lambs and every other form at once. What is hidden leaves a blank where it stood, so the shape of the verse is still there to think against. One switch on the bar puts every word back, and another puts them away again, without losing the list you built. TAKE A WORD DOWN TO A CLUE Three ways, and you choose which the switch applies: โข Ends โ In t-e b-------g G-d โข Consonants โ -n th- b-g-nn-ng G-d โข Vowels โ I- --e -e-i--i-- -o- Every dash stands for exactly one letter, so the line keeps its length and a word you half-remember is still the right shape on the page. READ IT BACKWARDS Reverse the words of every verse and the sentence you have been reciting from memory stops carrying you along. The punctuation stays where the text put it; only the words move. PRESS A VERSE TO SEE IT WHOLE Hold any verse and it comes back in full โ nothing hidden, nothing masked, in its own order. Hold it again and it goes back under the lens. Several verses can stand open at once, and turning the page forgets them, because it is a glance rather than a setting. GIVE A WORD WEIGHT Mark the words a passage turns on and they stand out in size and colour wherever they appear. Nothing is reordered and nothing is added โ emphasis changes how a word looks and never what the verse says. THE WHOLE KING JAMES, IN YOUR HAND The 1769 King James is inside the app: 66 books, 1,189 chapters, 31,102 verses. Swipe left and right to turn the page and the text follows your finger, from Genesis straight through to Revelation. Tap any word for its Strong's number, with the Hebrew or Greek word behind it, its transliteration, pronunciation and definition; for Noah Webster's 1828 โ the edition that defines the English the King James is written in; and for where that word falls in the verse, the chapter, the book and the whole Bible, with its letters, vowels and consonants counted. KEEP THE VERSES YOU ARE WORKING ON Bookmark a verse from the word sheet or by holding it, file it in folders of your own, and come back to it by name. NOTHING ELSE No account. No network. No advertising, no analytics, nothing collected. The whole Bible is inside the app, so it works with the phone in airplane mode, and it is free. CREDIT WHERE IT IS DUE Pure Bible Focus is built on the data model of King James Pure Bible Search written by Donna Whisnant at purebiblesearch.com, and follows it deliberately, down to the text and the way it is printed. The Strong's numbers over the King James are from The Bible Foundation for the Old Testament and the KJV2003 Project at CrossWire for the New.
