Measure real speeds on your own network with iPerf3. Run upload and download tests between your iPhone or iPad and a Mac, PC, NAS, or another device running iPerf3 on your local network — or turn Syscope into an iPerf3 server and pair with a QR code. Is it the Wi-Fi or the internet? Did moving closer to the router make a difference? Syscope also brings device information and network checks together, so CPU, memory, storage, DNS, and connection details are all in one place. INCLUDED FOR FREE • Live CPU, memory, storage, battery, and thermal information, with device-wide and Syscope-specific readings clearly labeled. • A one-hour view of locally recorded metric history. • Connection details, local IP addresses, DNS lookup, and TCP connection checks. • A quick health check that pings your router, then checks DNS and HTTPS, to show whether a problem is more likely on your Wi-Fi or beyond it. Includes a shareable summary. • Bonjour discovery and manual iPerf3 server entry. • TCP upload and download tests: 10 seconds, one stream. • Foreground iPerf3 server mode and QR-code pairing on a local network. • A one-time Wi-Fi reading through an optional Shortcut, with suggestions for weak signal, low signal-to-noise ratio, or an older Wi-Fi standard. On supported iPhone and iPad models, it also tells you when enabling 160 MHz on your router could raise the link rate. • Widgets for quick access. SYSCOPE PRO — ONE-TIME PURCHASE • 24-hour and 7-day history views, configurable local retention, and metric export. • Repeated DNS measurements and detailed HTTPS connection timings. • UDP tests, parallel streams, custom duration or transfer size, and on-demand local-subnet discovery on a single TCP port. • Latency under load: Syscope pings your router before and during each iPerf3 test to reveal bufferbloat, the queueing delay that makes calls and games stutter. • Saved tests, labels, reusable profiles, reruns, and side-by-side comparisons. • Room-by-room comparison: tag each test with a location to compare speed, Wi-Fi signal, and latency across your home or office. • Continuous Wi-Fi readings and charts through the optional Shortcut. • PDF, JSON, and CSV test reports. Network identifiers are hidden by default. Pro is an optional, non-consumable in-app purchase, not a subscription. See the app for your local price. Restore purchases with the Apple Account used for the purchase. YOUR DATA STAYS WITH YOU No account, ads, or tracking. The Syscope developer does not collect your personal data. Metrics and saved tests are processed and stored on your device unless you choose to export or share them. Network diagnostics send traffic to the target you choose, which can see your source IP. Purchases are handled by Apple. Optional Wi-Fi name access may require iOS location permission; Syscope does not read or save location coordinates. BEFORE YOU TEST iPerf3 requires a reachable compatible server, such as another device on your network. Syscope does not provide a public speed-test server network. Throughput tests can use substantial traffic; cellular testing is disabled by default. Server mode runs only in the foreground on Wi-Fi or a wired local network. Syscope does not list other apps or show their individual memory use. It records metrics while in the foreground, not as an always-on background monitor. Requires iOS 17 or later. Available for iPhone and iPad, in English and Traditional Chinese.

Test network throughput between your device and an iPerf3 server. View upload and download speeds with smooth gauges and live charts, including average speed and a sustained one-second peak. FREE CLIENT FEATURES • Upload, download, or both in sequence • TCP and UDP, configurable duration, parallel streams, port, and UDP bitrate • Local server discovery with hostnames when available • Public server browser on iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Apple TV, with cached listings from iperf3serverlist.net and port-range retry options • Continuous testing with a 10-second pause between runs • Background client testing on iPhone and iPad while iOS allows execution • Live Activity with speed, direction, progress, and a chart • Apple TV remote controls and a layout designed for the TV • Native Mac app with a live menu bar gauge SERVER & HISTORY — OPTIONAL ONE-TIME PURCHASE Unlock server mode and saved history on iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Apple TV, plus saved history on Apple Watch, using the same Apple Account. • Run an iPerf3 server from the Server tab on iPhone, iPad, Mac, or Apple TV • See incoming test gauges and charts, and review completed server results during the current app session • Save completed client tests, inspect charts and results, and reuse test settings • Export saved results as JSON on iPhone and iPad GETTING STARTED Run iperf3 -s on another computer, then enter its hostname or IP address in the app. Compatible local servers can also be discovered automatically, or choose Configure > Public servers to browse internet servers. Public server availability varies. An iPerf3 server is required for native client tests; iperf2 and authenticated servers are not supported. UDP measures delivery at your chosen target bitrate. Each direction begins with a one-second warm-up before measurements appear. Server mode runs while the Server tab is open. iPhone, iPad, and Apple TV servers require the foreground; the Mac server can keep running while hidden. Background client execution is controlled by iOS and can be stopped by the system. Apple TV client tests require the app to remain in the foreground. APPLE WATCH Run HTTP upload and download tests against this app’s enhanced server mode, with charts, queue positions, latency, and optional saved history. Open the iPhone app to share discovered servers or its own running server. Tap a server on Watch to run a 15-second upload and download test with four connections. Both gauges and charts fit on one screen. watchOS may route traffic through the paired iPhone; results may not represent a direct Watch Wi-Fi connection. HTTP measures TCP payload throughput and does not measure UDP loss or UDP jitter. Keep the Watch app open during tests. No app account, advertising, or analytics. Test traffic goes directly to your selected server. History stays on each device and does not sync; Apple TV may purge cached charts. Purchases are handled by Apple. Powered by the open-source ESnet iPerf3 engine.

Verdict
The clearest difference is update cadence: Throughput at daily against Syscope's weekly. On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.
Scored on Price · Rating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings · Update frequency · Ads · In-app purchases · Monetization · Best chart rank · Devices · Requires iOS
Both are free to download. Syscope sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Throughput sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.
Syscope ships an update weekly, Throughput daily. The most recent releases landed on October 26, 2026 and October 17, 2026 respectively.
