Should you go fishing right now? Hooked Fisherman answers that in one screen. Open the app and you get a straight verdict for the water nearest you, built from live buoys, river gauges, tides, barometric pressure and solunar windows. No account. No signup wall. No setup. WE WILL NOT MAKE UP A NUMBER This is the part that makes us different. If a reading did not come back, we say "unavailable" instead of showing you a zero. If we only have one reading, we say so and refuse to grade the day at all, because a confident letter grade computed from one measurement is worse than no grade. Every verdict shows its work. You see each factor, the reading behind it, and how much it helped or hurt. Disagree with us? Look at the 22 mph wind and decide for yourself. A verdict you cannot argue with is a verdict you cannot trust. Water temperature is shown but deliberately not scored. It matters enormously and it matters differently for every species. 74F is prime for largemouth and past the comfortable band for a brook trout, so we give you the number and stay out of it. 141 REGIONS, WRITTEN BY PEOPLE Fishing reports for 141 regions across all 50 states, updated from state agencies, charter captains, tackle shops and buoy data. Real coverage of real water, not a map with pins on it. Plus the rules that actually apply where you are standing: current regulations and the official state license desk for the water you picked. PLAN THE TRIP, NOT JUST THE MOMENT Wayfinder builds a plan for a day you choose: the best windows, what the tide is doing, and what to throw. Everyone gets a free plan. Subscribers get unlimited plans. SAVE YOUR WATER Save the spots you fish and switch between them without driving there. The app learns how you fish, from a boat or the bank, salt or fresh, and stops asking. WAYFINDER Wayfinder is 2.99 a month or 24.00 a year and unlocks unlimited plans, full plan history, and a trip-day dossier telling you what changed the morning you are actually going. The conditions, the verdict, the reports and the regulations stay free. Built by anglers in Connecticut, for anglers everywhere. Verdict
The clearest difference is rating: Hooked Fisherman at 5.0 against Blast Baseball's 4.0. Hooked Fisherman also leads on ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (every 4 days vs every 4 weeks). Blast Baseball's advantage is ratings volume (630 vs 1) and chart position (#83 vs unranked). On price, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.
