Have you ever tried to discuss your favorite film in a hostel abroad? Movie title translations are amazingly creative and often have little to do with the original wording. Enter MovieDict, your portable dictionary for thousands of popular movie titles. It even works offline! MovieDict includes a database of over 44,000 entries with a focus on the English, German, French, Russian, Japanese and (various) Chinese names. As a bonus for Chinese language learners, MovieDict lets you look up any Chinese characters in the popular dictionary app ‘Pleco’ if it is installed on your device – simply click the 魚 button next to a Chinese movie title. All data in this app has been extracted/remixed from public Wikipedia data dumps and is licensed under the CreativeCommons by-sa license (http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/3.0/). Conjugar is the fastest way to look up, hear, and master Spanish verb conjugations. Every form is produced by a conjugation engine built into the app, so Conjugar works offline, with no account, no ads, and nothing to buy. 4,811 VERBS, EVERY TENSE Browse or search 4,811 Spanish verbs, sorted by frequency or alphabetically. Each verb shows all 20 conjugated tenses, from presente de indicativo to futuro perfecto de subjuntivo, plus the participio, gerundio, and raíz futura. Irregular parts are highlighted inside each form, so you can see at a glance what makes a verb tricky. Tap any form to hear it spoken in a Spanish or Latin American voice. VOSOTROS AND VOS Study vosotros, used in Spain, and vos, used in much of Latin America. Choose which second-person forms appear when you browse and which ones the quiz asks about. 102 CONJUGATION MODELS Conjugar conjugates Spanish verbs using 102 distinct conjugation models. Drill down on a conjugation model to see its pattern, its exemplar verb, and every verb that uses it. Irregularity stops being something to memorize and starts being a system. WHERE THE WORDS CAME FROM Conjugar goes deeper than a conjugation table. - Etymologies for more than 1,300 verbs, tracing them to Latin, Greek, Germanic, Arabic, Celtic, and Basque roots. - An example sentence for more than 1,300 verbs, most of them drawn from Spanish literature, each with an English translation. - More than 2,100 quotations from medieval Spanish texts, including the Poema de mio Cid and the Libro de buen amor, with translations, showing the verbs as they were written in the 1200s and 1300s. QUIZ AND GAME CENTER A 30-question quiz in three difficulty levels, timed and scored, with your results reported to Game Center leaderboards. ASK THE TUTOR A Spanish conjugation tutor that runs entirely on your device. Ask how a tense works or how a verb is conjugated, and get an answer grounded in Conjugar's own conjugation engine. Nothing you type leaves your iPhone or iPad. Requires a device with Apple Intelligence enabled. ARTICLES Clear descriptions of every tense with example uses, an explanation of voseo, a glossary of grammatical terminology, and an essay on the history of the Spanish verb system from Latin to today. Filter the articles by difficulty as you progress. WIDGETS AND CONTROLS - Verb of the Day on the Home Screen and the Lock Screen. - A quiz widget you can answer without opening the app. - Control Center buttons for a quick quiz or a random verb. - A Live Activity that follows a quiz in progress. TOREO POR AMOR Conjugar hosts an arcade game: a five-stage climb through a Spanish festival, with obstacles to dodge, power-ups to grab, and a flamenco dance-off with a friendly bull. Toreo por Amor has nothing to do with grammar, and you will love it. BUILT FOR iPHONE AND iPAD Native iPad layouts, dark mode, Dynamic Type, VoiceOver support, and four app icons to choose from. The whole app, articles included, is available in English and Spanish. Conjugar is free, ad-free, and open source under the GNU Affero General Public License.
