BMW Driver's Guide is free to download; BimmerRefs costs $3.99 up front. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.
BMW Driver's Guide holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 3.9. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: BMW Driver's Guide has 17K ratings behind it against 7, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 42% of BMW Driver's Guide's written reviews are positive against 57% of BimmerRefs's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
BMW Driver's Guide ships an update every 3 weeks, BimmerRefs every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 14, 2026 and October 12, 2026 respectively.
