****I really like the fact that in addition to hearing the presented syllables, words and phrases you can play a brief video for the child which shows the actual mouth production of the presented stimulus items. (Smart Speech Therapy)**** The Apraxia RainbowBee app is a multi-step, multi-modality program with colorful graphic, photo, audio, and video targets and fun engaging games. The program is designed to help enhance motor planning for children with an apraxic component that impacts their speech production. The Apraxia RainbowBee app gives therapists the flexibility not only to choose between three levels of complexity but also to manipulate the prompting of visual, auditory, tactile, and lexical stimuli presented to the child. The therapists are also able to choose their targets and the amount of stimulus trials at each level. In addition to using hundreds of photos and video recordings included in this app, the therapists can add their own images and record their own videos, making speech therapy more individualized. This dynamic app embraces the principals of motor planning and works by starting with the CV and VC syllable level and then moving to CVC words, 2 syllable words, 3 syllable words, and finally the expanding sentence level. “Differentiating CAS from other causes of articulatory disorder is the observation that errors are more frequent with increasing phonetic complexity and increasing length of the word or utterance. If the word contains phonemes such as sibilants or affricates articulatory errors will increase. Increasing the length of utterance will also have substantial effect on articulatory accuracy. (Yorkston, Beukelman, Strand, and Hakel, 2010) The Apraxia RainbowBee includes flashcards and two fun Games: -A puzzle game played as a reward with flashcards -A fun animated board game "... Motor learning happens through experience and that experience takes practice. This implies therapy "drills," a concept dreaded by both children and clinicians. To improve motor skill in these children, the clinician must elicit hundreds of utterances per session; however, this need not be drudgery. Sessions can be fast moving, interesting, and even fun for the child. More important, when children start having success with the movement patterns, they easily become even more engage in the drill work." Created by a speech-language pathologist, Score 4 Articulation makes speech practice fun, motivating, and effective. This innovative articulation app combines the excitement of a classic game with targeted speech sound practice to help children improve their articulation skills. Whether you're an SLP looking for a powerful speech therapy tool or a parent supporting speech at home, Score 4 Articulation is a game-changer. KEY FEATURES: Engaging Gameplay: Enjoy the classic challenge of connecting four in a row, now with a twist! Each turn begins with practicing a speech sound, making articulation practice an integral part of the game. Speech Mastery Through Play: Players can tap on each word to hear a clear pronunciation model. A visual counter tracks repetitions to encourage frequent practice and build speech accuracy. Targeted Sound Practice: Choose from a variety of game boards, each focusing on different sounds, including R (initial, vocalic, blends), S (initial, blends, final), L (initial, medial, blends), SH (initial, medial + final), CH (initial, final), J (initial, medial + final), and TH (voiceless). Target words have been meticulously selected by a speech-language pathologist, and a clear pronunciation model can be heard aloud by tapping on the image. Multiple Modes and Levels: Challenge the computer in single-player mode or play against a friend, SLP, or parent in two-player mode. Select from easy to difficult levels to suit the student’s skill level. Two players can even choose different sound targets, making it ideal for mixed speech groups. Rewards and Motivation: Win a game and color in three stars. Every 10 repetitions also earns stars or diamonds, helping kids stay engaged and motivated to practice more. Research-Based: Research suggests that massed practice, with many repetitions in a short period, enhances speech sound acquisition and motor learning (Maas et al., 2008; Bislick et al., 2012). This game leverages this principle to help children improve their speech more effectively. Score 4 Articulation turns speech therapy practice into a game kids will love.
