Verdict
The clearest difference is review sentiment: Upkeep Tasks at 64% against Dirtfree's 39%. Upkeep Tasks also leads on iOS requirement (12.4 vs 15.1). Dirtfree's advantage is update cadence (every 10 days vs every 2 months) and rating (4.2 vs 4.0). On price, ratings volume, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Upkeep Tasks sells 6 one-off in-app purchases and Dirtfree sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.
Dirtfree holds the better App Store score, 4.2 against 4.0. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 117 and 117 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 64% of Upkeep Tasks's written reviews are positive against 39% of Dirtfree's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
Upkeep Tasks ships an update every 2 months, Dirtfree every 10 days. The most recent releases landed on October 17, 2026 and October 15, 2026 respectively.
