Verdict

The call

The clearest difference is rating: Magic Dice at 4.3 against ILRemote's 3.5. ILRemote's advantage is monetization model (free vs paid) and update cadence (every 2 months vs every 19 months). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Magic Dice holds the better App Store score, 4.3 against 3.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: ILRemote has 83 ratings behind it against 11, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 59% of ILRemote's written reviews are positive against 50% of Magic Dice's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

UpkeepUpdate frequency

ILRemote ships an update every 2 months, Magic Dice every 19 months. The most recent releases landed on November 1, 2026 and November 3, 2026 respectively.
