Verdict
The clearest difference is rating: DirectLoader at 3.4 against ControlPRO's 2.4. ControlPRO's advantage is review sentiment (67% vs 50%) and iOS requirement (9.0 vs 15.6). On price, ratings volume, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.
DirectLoader holds the better App Store score, 3.4 against 2.4. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 10 and 5 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 67% of ControlPRO's written reviews are positive against 50% of DirectLoader's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly every 3 months. The most recent releases landed on October 6, 2026 and October 10, 2026 respectively.
