Verdict
The clearest difference is rating: Tangle Patterns Mega Pack at 4.7 against Doodle Patterns's 4.1. Tangle Patterns Mega Pack also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 5) and ratings volume (1.2K vs 35). Doodle Patterns's advantage is update cadence (monthly vs every 4 months) and price ($2.99 vs $5.99). On ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Tangle Patterns Mega Pack holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.1. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Tangle Patterns Mega Pack has 1.2K ratings behind it against 35, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 77% of Doodle Patterns's written reviews are positive against 65% of Tangle Patterns Mega Pack's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
