Bauskript Site Journal App vs Construction Defect Tracker

The Bauskript App is intended to help site-supervising architects, engineers, and construction companies document site inspections in a simple and easy to use manner. All important data, events and associated site photos are conveniently processed and managed with this App. In addition to multiple input modes, note the following features: Creation of individual daily reports and email transmission (HTML). Input of the persons and companies involved in the construction project and access to this data within the program structure. Photos showing the performance level and defects can be included in the daily reports. Quick recording of: Weather, temperature and humidity, attendees and site staffing including hours of work, performance level, deficiencies, delays, hindrances, and acceptances, instructions and additional works given. Execution of important building operations, tests and measurements. Additionally statements on materials, deliveries, storage, machines, and drawing deliveries. You will need a Dropbox account for synchronization.

This app has been created for tracking defects like e.g. construction defects or maintenance tasks. The server software is available as open source at https://git.elbe5cloud.de/CodefApp. The app can be connected to a dedicated server. Yet this is only needed if you want to store your data at a central location. You can get support for creating and running a dedicated server at www.elbe5.de. The structure of this app includes projects, units and defects. Additionally it includes a pool of companies for assigning them to one or more projects and there to their defects for further processing. Projects can be e.g. construction tasks or buildings. From the pool of all companies the relevant ones are assigned to each project. Units are parts of the project like a floor or a room. Units can have a (ground )plan, where defects can be marked on. Defects include a name or short description, a description of the defect, a status, an assignment to a company, a target date, a position on the ground plan and images and/or photos. Defects are processed using status changes with comment, new status, new assignment and new images or photos. For units and defects PDF reports can be created and stored or mailed. All data can be backed up and restored later. If you use a server, all items can be synchronized to and from the server. And one more thing: This a quite large app and no software is free of errors.
