Display your photos and artwork beautifully on your Hisense CanvasTV or any TV that runs on Google TV. The CanvasTV is a great way to display artwork on your wall. This app helps you format, frame, mat, and sign your images so they look their best on your CanvasTV. - Images are automatically formatted and sized perfectly. - A "soft" frame can be added to make it look like framed art. - One or more mats of varying sizes can be added. - Mat colors are recommended by analyzing the colors in your image or you can pick any possible color. - Captions can be added onto a pic (like a painter's signature in the corner). Location and date info is automatically read from photos when available to generate suggested captions. - Set the direction of the main light source in your room to add realistic shadows and highlights to your mat and frame. - Two portrait pics can be framed and matted side by side for a beautiful layout. - This app uploads your beautiful pics to an album in your Google Photos account so displaying them on your CanvasTV (which uses Google TV) is a breeze. All the features of this app are available for free. There is an in-app purchase to remove the small ads that appear at the bottom of the screen, but that purchase is optional and does not impact any features in the app. ------------------------------------------ "Hisense CanvasTV" is a copyright of Hisense Inc. Verdict

The call

The clearest difference is ads: Brushstroke at none against Canvas TV Pics's shown. Brushstroke also leads on ratings volume (14K vs 7) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 17.6). Canvas TV Pics's advantage is review sentiment (100% vs 80%). On price, rating, update cadence and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

CostPrice · In-app purchases · Ads · Monetization

Both are free to download. Brushstroke sells 11 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days and Canvas TV Pics sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

ReceptionRating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings

Brushstroke holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Brushstroke has 14K ratings behind it against 7, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 80% of Brushstroke's written reviews are positive against 100% of Canvas TV Pics's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

UpkeepUpdate frequency

Brushstroke ships an update monthly, Canvas TV Pics every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 31, 2026 and October 30, 2026 respectively.
