About

ZAO RTC

Features

ZAO RTC-1 is a musical timing and compression workspace for producers, engineers, musicians, and students. Enter or tap a tempo, choose a note value, and turn BPM into practical attack and release timing. CALCULATE MUSICAL TIME Convert tempo and note values into milliseconds, seconds, and microseconds. Save useful results and recall them when a session needs them. HEAR WHAT THE COMPRESSOR IS DOING Compression Lab makes attack, release, ratio, threshold, and level matching easier to understand. Audition musical sources while adjusting controls, switch between free movement and tempo-based note-grid timing, and see clear explanations of the result. EXPLORE 21 RTC-1 DEVICE MODELS The Device Rack translates RTC-1 timing into calibrated control positions across 21 original RTC-1 dynamics models. Each model has a neutral public identity, an original RTC-1 faceplate, and controls aligned with its supported behavior. ASK RTC-1 AI Describe the source and the sound you want. RTC-1 AI can suggest a starting point, explain the reasoning, and map supported settings to the selected RTC-1 device model. Recommendations are starting points—your recording and your ears remain the final authority. BUILD YOUR WORKSPACE On Mac, open the Calculator, Compression Lab, Device Rack, and AI Assistant together or separately. Detach sections into resizable windows, arrange them across displays, and return to the last workspace configuration. Additional features include tempo following, note-grid attack and release, uninterrupted loop auditioning, numeric make-up level feedback, save and recall, responsive layouts, themes, haptics, and button-sound controls. RTC-1 Pro is available as a one-time in-app purchase. RTC-1 AI is available by auto-renewable monthly or annual subscription and includes the complete Device Rack while active. Verdict

The call

The clearest difference is price: StagePlot Guru at Free against ZAO RTC's $4.99. StagePlot Guru also leads on update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 6 months). ZAO RTC's advantage is device support (4 vs 2) and iOS requirement (15.0 vs 18.0). On ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.
