Verdict
The clearest difference is review sentiment: Cedar Point Banking at 67% against CardValet's 19%. CardValet's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases). On price, update cadence, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.
CardValet holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: CardValet has 19K ratings behind it against 584, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 19% of CardValet's written reviews are positive against 67% of Cedar Point Banking's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
CardValet ships an update every 4 months, Cedar Point Banking every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 15, 2026 and October 18, 2026 respectively.
