SolMo is the daily social spotlight app: every day, one random person becomes the only featured profile in the SolMo pool — visible to everyone for 24 hours, then gone. No feed. No followers. Verdict
The clearest difference is in-app purchases: SolMo at none against Signal's 1. SolMo also leads on update cadence (daily vs weekly) and rating (5.0 vs 4.7). Signal's advantage is ratings volume (1.1M vs 1) and chart position (#8 vs unranked). On price, ads, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Signal sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $1.99 per month. SolMo asks for nothing beyond the download.
SolMo holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Signal has 1.1M ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.
Signal ships an update weekly, SolMo daily. The most recent releases landed on October 26, 2026 and October 9, 2026 respectively.
