Verdict

The call

Elevate and MindPal both sit at 4.8 stars, but that hides the real split: 80% of MindPal's written reviews are positive against 59% of Elevate's. MindPal also leads on iOS requirement (15.0 vs 17.0). Elevate's advantage is update cadence (weekly vs every 3 weeks) and chart position (#19 vs unranked). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.
