FOUR WAYS TO PLAY • ESCAPE - timing adapts to how well you play, so it's a frantic challenge at any level. A game takes a couple of minutes, or 15-30 seconds if you're really good. • SURVIVE - every word earns you more time. Relax and rack up a high score, or hunt for the longest words. • DISCOVER - reach the edge of the board in as few words as possible. It gets harder as you get better. Verdict

The call

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: All The Words at none against Hexiled's 1. All The Words also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.7) and update cadence (monthly vs every 3 months). Hexiled's advantage is review sentiment (90% vs 60%) and ratings volume (417 vs 1). On ads and device support there is nothing between them.

ReceptionRating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings

All The Words holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Hexiled has 417 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 90% of Hexiled's written reviews are positive against 60% of All The Words's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

UpkeepUpdate frequency

Hexiled ships an update every 3 months, All The Words monthly. Both last shipped on October 26, 2026.
