MyGels vs Test Strip Analyzer
Price, ratings, monetisation and update history for both apps, side by side — with what reviewers say about each.
MyGels
This app assists researchers in analyzing protein and DNA gels, such as SDS-PAGE and western blots. It automatically recognizes lanes and bands from gel images, allowing for calibration, quantification, and export of annotated results for further analysis.
- Automatic lane and band recognition
- Gel calibration for molecular weight
- Band quantification
- Export annotated gels and data
- Organize and track experimental results

MyGels helps you annotate, analyse, quantify, and organise gels or blots commonly used in molecular biology or biochemistry, such as agarose gels, SDS-PAGE, western blots, etc. Simply snap a picture of your gel, crop to the desired region and MyGels will automatically recognise lanes and bands. You can calibrate the gel to determine molecular weights, quantify bands, and export beautifully annotated gels, plots of your bands of interest, and of course all the raw data for analysis in third-party software. MyGels makes it easy to organise and keep track of your gels, makes analysis a breeze, and puts your experimental results at your fingertips.
Test Strip Analyzer
Read full descriptionHide full description
Test Strip Analyzer is a quick and easy way to read and track the results of your lateral flow test strip. The analyzer detects the presence or absence of the test line to determine if a test is positive or negative. If the test is invalid (indicated by a missing control line) then the test will be classified as inconclusive. Additional functionalities are available on the Test Strip Analyzer App, including tracking and recording of operator name, location, date, time, and sample type and appearance. The sample information, raw images, and end result are stored in the App until exported. Advanced export options are available.
