Verdict
The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Wright at none against Word Search Tab's 1. Wright also leads on ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (monthly vs every 9 months). Word Search Tab's advantage is rating (5.0 vs 4.7) and iOS requirement (12.0 vs 26.6). On price and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Word Search Tab sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Wright asks for nothing beyond the download.
Word Search Tab holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Wright has 20 ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 63% of Word Search Tab's written reviews are positive against 81% of Wright's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
Word Search Tab ships an update every 9 months, Wright monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 15, 2026 and October 18, 2026 respectively.
