Zaanse Schans Experience
Read full descriptionHide full description
The Zaanse Schans is best seen slowly, on foot. This app turns that walk into a trail you can keep. Eleven places sit along the route — working windmills, museums, workshops and the little shops between them. Each one holds a seal you can only unlock by standing there. Reach a mill, open it in the app, and the seal is yours. HOW IT WORKS • Open the map and see all eleven locations around you • Walk to any of them — the app guides you there • Unlock its seal once you arrive • Collect seven and your certificate is ready WHY STANDING THERE MATTERS A seal is proof you were really at the mill, not just near the Schans. The app checks you are at the location before it unlocks, so a finished collection means something — and so does the certificate that comes with it. YOUR CERTIFICATE Collect seven of the eleven seals and the app makes a certificate in your name, listing the places you reached and the days you were there. Keep it, print it, send it to whoever you were walking with. BUILT FOR A DAY OUTDOORS Coverage at the Schans can be thin. Places you have already opened stay readable when the signal drops, so the app keeps working while you walk between the mills. IN ENGLISH AND DUTCH The app follows your phone's language. WHAT YOU NEED Location access, to confirm you are at a site before its seal unlocks. Your position is used for that check and nothing else. Come for the windmills. Leave with the whole set.
