Verdict
The clearest difference is rating: Insomnia Coffee IE at 4.2 against Sporting Globe's 3.3. Sporting Globe's advantage is review sentiment (31% vs 0%) and update cadence (monthly vs every 5 months). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.
Insomnia Coffee IE holds the better App Store score, 4.2 against 3.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Sporting Globe has 225 ratings behind it against 17, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 0% of Insomnia Coffee IE's written reviews are positive against 31% of Sporting Globe's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
Insomnia Coffee IE ships an update every 5 months, Sporting Globe monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 26, 2026 respectively.
