Verdict
The clearest difference is ratings volume: RibCrib at 12K against Taco Pronto's 15. RibCrib also leads on update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 3 months). Taco Pronto's advantage is review sentiment (100% vs 76%) and monetization model (ad-supported vs free with in-app purchases). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.
On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 5.0 for Taco Pronto against 4.9 for RibCrib. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: RibCrib has 12K ratings behind it against 15, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 100% of Taco Pronto's written reviews are positive against 76% of RibCrib's.
Taco Pronto ships an update every 3 months, RibCrib every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on November 1, 2026 and November 6, 2026 respectively.
