Verdict
The clearest difference is rating: Force Fit at 5.0 against Workout Timer's 4.3. Force Fit also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 8) and iOS requirement (7.0 vs 12.0). Workout Timer's advantage is update cadence (every 2 days vs every 5 months) and review sentiment (88% vs 64%). On price, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Workout Timer sells 8 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per 7 days. Force Fit asks for nothing beyond the download.
Force Fit holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Workout Timer has 43 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 64% of Force Fit's written reviews are positive against 88% of Workout Timer's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
Force Fit ships an update every 5 months, Workout Timer every 2 days. The most recent releases landed on September 23, 2026 and September 17, 2026 respectively.
