SELFLOOPS HRV – Recovery, Readiness & Performance SELFLOOPS HRV is a professional-grade app to measure and analyze heart rate variability (HRV)—trusted by pro athletes, coaches, and researchers to track recovery, stress, fatigue, and training readiness. Using precise beat-to-beat (R-R interval) data from Bluetooth heart rate monitors, SELFLOOPS delivers highly accurate HRV insights used in sports science and performance optimization. Why track HRV? Heart Rate Variability (HRV) measures the variation between heartbeats and is one of the most reliable indicators of: 1. Recovery status 2. Training readiness 3. Stress and fatigue 4. Nervous system balance 5. Long-term performance Track your HRV daily to understand when to push harder or recover, reduce the risk of overtraining, and improve performance over time. Advanced HRV Analysis SELFLOOPS HRV provides the key metrics used in elite sports and scientific research: 1. RMSSD 2. ln(RMSSD) (HRV Score) 3. SDNN 4. pNN50 5. AVNN Key Features 1. Accurate HRV measurement from beat-to-beat data 2. Daily recovery & readiness tracking 3. Clear trends to monitor progress over time 4. Fast, simple, and intuitive interface 5. Compatible with leading Bluetooth heart rate monitors 6. Used in endurance, strength training, cycling, running, and fitness Device Compatibility Requires a Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) heart rate monitor. For best accuracy, use a chest strap that supports R-R interval data. Not all heart rate monitors provide this data. Connection Tips If your sensor does not connect: 1. Make sure it is not connected to another app or device 2. Do not pair it directly in iOS Settings Disclaimer SELFLOOPS HRV is not a medical app and does not provide medical advice. Yudemon HRV is a unique visual and sonic tool for resonance breathing and HRV biofeedback training. It provides a fun and engaging workout for your autonomic nervous system, helping you build stress resilience and enhanced self-regulation. You can either use the app as a basic breath timer, or connect an ECG-based heart rate monitor (like the Polar H10) via Bluetooth for full biofeedback and analytics. Unless you specifically opt-in to cloud sync, all data processing happens on your device, so your data is completely secure. Using Yudemon with a heart rate monitor not only allows you to track and visualise your data for each session, it also enables you to use Yudemon's Journey Mode, a novel and unique way of establishing your own optimal breathing rate over the course of multiple sessions. Yudemon's adjustable visuals and soundscapes offer infinite variations, making every breathing session feel fresh and engaging. By default, the app’s appearance automatically changes on a daily basis. Or, with Yudemon Pro, you can take full control and customize everything manually. A healthy heart does not beat like a metronome but constantly adapts to the requirements of the present moment. Heart rate variability (HRV) biofeedback training and resonance breathing are based on the fact that our breathing has a direct impact on the rest of our physiology. By controlling our breathing in specific ways we can train our body to become more adaptable and perform better under stress. Yudemon helps you with this practice. Yudemon HRV is the first breathing app with custom soundsapes and functional music specifically designed for resonance breathing and HRV biofeedback training. The soundscapes guide you in your breathing sessions and aim to enhance the effects of the practice. It also integrates other aspects of generative art, such as the "Heartwork", a unique piece of art based on your very own physiological data that is generated and grows with you as you complete more sessions. New visuals, soundscapes, and effects are added on a regular basis. Terms of Service: https://app.yudemon.com/terms Privacy Policy: https://app.yudemon.com/privacy

Verdict
The clearest difference is rating: SelfLoops HRV at 5.0 against Yudemon HRV's 4.5. Yudemon HRV's advantage is update cadence (every 2 days vs every 4 months) and review sentiment (92% vs 75%). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.
Scored on Price · Rating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings · Update frequency · Ads · In-app purchases · Monetization · Best chart rank · Devices · Requires iOS
Both are free to download. SelfLoops HRV sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Yudemon HRV sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.
SelfLoops HRV holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Yudemon HRV has 13 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 75% of SelfLoops HRV's written reviews are positive against 92% of Yudemon HRV's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
SelfLoops HRV ships an update every 4 months, Yudemon HRV every 2 days. The most recent releases landed on October 11, 2026 and October 13, 2026 respectively.
