Verdict
The clearest difference is rating: Album Time! at 4.8 against MEGAPLAY's 4.2. Album Time! also leads on update cadence (every 4 months vs every 12 months). MEGAPLAY's advantage is ratings volume (20 vs 4) and price ($0.99 vs $1.99). On review sentiment, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

MEGAPLAY costs $0.99 and Album Time! $1.99 up front. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.
Album Time! holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: MEGAPLAY has 20 ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 80% of MEGAPLAY's written reviews are positive against 75% of Album Time!'s, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
MEGAPLAY ships an update every 12 months, Album Time! every 4 months. Both last shipped on October 24, 2026.
