Verdict
The clearest difference is rating: Microsoft Power BI at 4.7 against Brightmile's 2.6. Microsoft Power BI also leads on ratings volume (98K vs 29) and chart position (#185 vs unranked). Brightmile's advantage is iOS requirement (15.0 vs 18.0). On price, review sentiment, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.
Microsoft Power BI holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 2.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Microsoft Power BI has 98K ratings behind it against 29, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 46% of Microsoft Power BI's written reviews are positive against 50% of Brightmile's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
Microsoft Power BI ships an update fortnightly, Brightmile monthly. The most recent releases landed on November 2, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
