Verdict

The call

The clearest difference is price: Pomodoro at Free against Pommie's $3.99. Pomodoro also leads on ratings volume (11K vs 88) and rating (4.7 vs 4.5). Pommie's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 5) and ads (none vs shown). On update cadence and device support there is nothing between them.

ReceptionRating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings

Pomodoro holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Pomodoro has 11K ratings behind it against 88, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 78% of Pommie's written reviews are positive against 50% of Pomodoro's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

UpkeepUpdate frequency

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 6, 2026 and October 19, 2026 respectively.
