Verdict

The call

The clearest difference is rating: Dominion at 4.9 against Nimtastic's 4.0. Dominion also leads on update cadence (every 5 days vs every 14 months) and ratings volume (5K vs 8). On price, review sentiment, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Nimtastic sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Dominion sells 17 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

ReceptionRating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings

Dominion holds the better App Store score, 4.9 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Dominion has 5K ratings behind it against 8, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 75% of Nimtastic's written reviews are positive against 68% of Dominion's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

UpkeepUpdate frequency

Nimtastic ships an update every 14 months, Dominion every 5 days. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 25, 2026 respectively.
