Verdict
The clearest difference is rating: MyUP at 5.0 against Blackboard's 4.6. Blackboard's advantage is ratings volume (445K vs 1) and chart position (#96 vs unranked). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.
MyUP holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Blackboard has 445K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.
Blackboard ships an update monthly, MyUP every 5 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 27, 2026 and October 26, 2026 respectively.
