CODE STATUS IS AN EDUCATIONAL EMERGENCY MEDICINE SIMULATION. Designed for Medical Students, Residents, Physicians, Physician Assistants, Nurse Practitioners, Nurses, Paramedics, EMTs and other Medical Learners. Created by a Board-Certified Practicing Emergency Physician and grounded in evidence-based clinical guidance. All cases are fictional and authored for teaching. Code Status gives Healthcare Professionals and Medical Learners a safe, repeatable way to practice emergency medicine decision-making and learn from outcomes without risk to a real patient. TAKE THE CASE Meet a patient with an unknown diagnosis. Take a history, perform an exam, order and interpret tests, commit to a diagnosis, treat the patient and decide what happens next. Your decisions shape the course of the case. LEARN FROM THE OUTCOME Patients may improve, deteriorate or require urgent intervention based on your decisions. Experiencing the consequences of delayed recognition, missed diagnoses or incorrect treatment is part of simulation-based medical education. Afterward, review what happened and try another approach. SCORE. REVIEW. REPLAY. Each case is scored across diagnosis, testing, treatment, timing and disposition. Scores are structured educational feedback, not the goal of the simulation. They show what you got right and what you missed, and make replay deliberate practice rather than repetition. HIGH-ACUITY RESUSCITATION Code Mode focuses on life-threatening emergencies where recognizing danger quickly and giving the right treatments in the right order are important learning objectives. These scenarios let learners practice time-sensitive emergency decision-making. WHY SIMULATION MATTERS Emergency medicine requires more than recalling facts. It requires recognizing deterioration, acting on incomplete information and making time-sensitive decisions under uncertainty. In real emergency care, patients can get worse quickly, and resuscitation and bedside procedures may be necessary. Code Status includes these elements because leaving them out would teach an incomplete version of emergency medicine. Resuscitation and procedures are presented clinically, without gratuitous detail and only where educationally relevant. EVIDENCE-BASED ATTENDING'S NOTES Practice first. Learn deeply afterward. Attending's Notes explains the medicine and clinical reasoning behind your decisions. Every case is grounded in clinical practice guidelines. More than 250 clinical sources are cited across the library, including guidelines, consensus statements and supporting studies. References are available in the app. Make the Call adds fast bedside questions. 25 CASES AND GROWING Cases span Cardiovascular, Neurologic, Respiratory, Gastrointestinal, Infectious, Obstetric, Genitourinary, Musculoskeletal and Critical Care emergencies. New cases added regularly. TWO COMPLETE CASES ARE FREE Try Code Status free. Premium unlocks the growing case library. EDUCATIONAL SIMULATION ONLY Every patient, presentation, investigation, result, medication and procedure is fictional and authored for teaching. No case depicts a real person or clinical encounter. Code Status is not a health service and is not intended for real-world patient care, diagnosis, treatment or clinical decision-making. It does not provide medical advice, hold patient health information or connect to electronic health records, hospital systems, medical devices or Apple Health.
