Verdict

The call

The clearest difference is price: Thangs at Free against Machinist Calc Pro 2's $29.99. Thangs also leads on update cadence (weekly vs every 9 months) and review sentiment (24% vs 0%). ReceptionRating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings

Machinist Calc Pro 2 holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 3.0. Written reviews complicate that: 0% of Machinist Calc Pro 2's written reviews are positive against 24% of Thangs's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
