Verdict
The clearest difference is rating: Z at 2.3 against Dashcam Viewer's 1.7. Z also leads on update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 6 weeks). Dashcam Viewer's advantage is iOS requirement (7.0 vs 10.0). On price, review sentiment, ratings volume and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.
Z holds the better App Store score, 2.3 against 1.7. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 137 and 66 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 8% of Dashcam Viewer's written reviews are positive against 6% of Z's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
Dashcam Viewer ships an update every 6 weeks, Z every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 22, 2026 and October 19, 2026 respectively.
