Verdict
The clearest difference is price: Cuarenta at Free against MONOPOLY's $4.99. Cuarenta also leads on review sentiment (55% vs 38%) and iOS requirement (8.0 vs 15.2). MONOPOLY's advantage is rating (4.7 vs 3.2) and update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 4 months). On ads, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.
Scored on Price · Rating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings · Update frequency · Ads · In-app purchases · Monetization · Best chart rank · Devices · Requires iOS
Cuarenta is free to download; MONOPOLY costs $4.99 up front. Cuarenta sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and MONOPOLY sells 14 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.
MONOPOLY holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 3.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: MONOPOLY has 186K ratings behind it against 6, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 55% of Cuarenta's written reviews are positive against 38% of MONOPOLY's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
Cuarenta ships an update every 4 months, MONOPOLY every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 26, 2026 respectively.
