Verdict
The clearest difference is in-app purchases: FTA at none against Chronicling's 3. FTA also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.7) and review sentiment (100% vs 79%). Chronicling's advantage is update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 2 months) and ratings volume (184 vs 10). On price, ads and device support there is nothing between them.
