Verdict
The clearest difference is rating: SJCAM Zone at 4.7 against CamKing's 2.3. SJCAM Zone also leads on update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 2 months) and ratings volume (768 vs 119). CamKing's advantage is iOS requirement (8.0 vs 12.0). On price, review sentiment, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.
SJCAM Zone holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 2.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: SJCAM Zone has 768 ratings behind it against 119, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 13% of SJCAM Zone's written reviews are positive against 17% of CamKing's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
SJCAM Zone ships an update every 2 weeks, CamKing every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 23, 2026 and October 21, 2026 respectively.
