Apple HomeView Apps: Every App That Works on HomeView

Last updated: October 13, 2026, the day Apple announced HomeView. We'll update this page when the device goes on sale on November 13 and the list of third-party apps becomes clear.
Apple HomeView has no App Store. Instead, it comes with 13 built-in Apple apps, picks up four more Apple apps from your iPhone, and supports "compatible third-party audio and video apps" that Apple hasn't named yet. Here is every app that works on HomeView today, what's still unconfirmed, and how apps get onto the device at all.
Does Apple HomeView have an App Store?
No. HomeView launches without an App Store, according to Tom's Guide's hands-on coverage, so there is nothing to download onto it directly.
Engadget compares the model to CarPlay: apps aren't installed on HomeView, and its menu shows the apps you've been using recently. Each of up to six household members gets a personal Home Screen with their own apps and widgets, as MacRumors reported from Apple's announcement.
The 13 built-in apps on HomeView
Apple's HomeView tech specs list these as built in:
| App | What it does on HomeView |
|---|---|
| Alarms | Wake-up and reminder alarms, set by voice or touch |
| Calendar | Each recognized person's own appointments |
| FaceTime | Video calls on the 12MP Center Stage camera |
| Find My | Locate devices, AirTags and people who share their location |
| Home | Controls for lights, locks, cameras and scenes |
| Intercom | Quick voice messages to other rooms and family devices |
| Messages | Read and reply, for the person HomeView recognizes |
| Music | Apple Music with animated album art and lyrics |
| Podcasts | Apple Podcasts playback |
| Reminders | Personal and shared to-do lists |
| Safari | Web browsing, plus a new cooking mode for recipes |
| Settings | Device settings |
| Timers | Multiple running timers, shown as Live Activities |
Ten of the 13 have an iPhone version on the App Store, with Alarms and Timers both covered by the Clock app. Messages, Intercom and Settings have no App Store listing.

Personal apps need your iPhone nearby
Messages, Calendar and other personal content only appear for you when your paired iPhone or iPad is on the same Wi-Fi network, has been unlocked recently, and HomeView recognizes your face, according to Apple's HomeView page. Guests and anyone HomeView doesn't recognize can still control accessories, check the weather, set timers and play music.
Four Apple apps that come from your iPhone
Apple's specs list a second group, "Apps Available from iPhone": Audiobooks, Classical Music, News and TV. Apple lists them under their own heading, separate from the built-in apps.

Apple Music Classical needs an Apple Music subscription, and News+ stories need a News+ subscription, as the footnotes on Apple's product page point out.
Which third-party apps work on HomeView?
Apple's only statement is that HomeView supports "compatible third-party audio and video apps from your iPhone," with a footnote that some apps aren't available in all areas, on its HomeView page. It didn't name a single one at launch.
Before the event, 9to5Mac reported that users might be able to project third-party app widgets from a nearby iPhone. Apple hasn't confirmed that detail.
Spotify, YouTube and Netflix on HomeView
None of the three is confirmed. All of them are audio or video apps on iPhone, the category Apple says it supports, so they're the first ones to check for on November 13.

Two routes work regardless of app support. AirPlay connects HomeView with HomePod, Apple TV 4K and compatible speakers for multiroom audio, and Safari can open streaming sites that play in a browser, though no one has tested which services allow playback there yet.
Faces and widgets
HomeView's full-screen faces work like watch faces, per Apple:
- Photos turns HomeView into a picture frame using your collections or shared albums.
- Snoopy, Calendar and Weather are among the playful and informative options.
- Flow is interactive artwork that reacts to your movements with color and light.
- Home Modular shows your accessories at a glance, and Home Camera streams up to nine camera feeds at once.
Some faces change through the day, and the interface shows larger, simpler information from across the room and more detail as you step closer, as MacRumors described.
Cooking mode and Handoff
Find a recipe in Safari and tap Start Cooking, and HomeView reformats it into steps that are easy to follow. MacRumors adds that the mode includes hands-free timer controls and ingredient tracking. Engadget notes that it works on recipes that meet Google's formatting standards.
Handoff lets you start a song, podcast, call, video or recipe on iPhone and continue it on HomeView.
What you need to use HomeView apps
- iPhone or iPad on iOS 27.2 or iPadOS 27.2 or later, per Apple's specs.
- An Apple Account and membership in the shared home in the Home app, for the personalized experience.
- A supported region. HomeView won't be available in the European Union at first, because Siri AI isn't available there yet, Cult of Mac reports. Siri AI starts in English and is labeled beta.
- Subscriptions for Apple Music, Apple Music Classical and News+ content.
HomeView costs $299, and both the tabletop and wall-mounted models go on sale November 13, according to CNBC and Apple's product page.
