Decent app for learning Chinese

Decent app for learning Chinese but I wish there was an option to skip some of the lessons since some are very difficult to hear or aren’t correct and there is only an option to report rather than skip as well.

Words cannot describe how much I love this app.

The reason why I got into Chinese culture (or really why I’m back at it) is because I learned how to speak it at the age of three. Three?!!?? It’s crazy right? I thought maybe if I got back to learning more about it, I could maybe even visit China someday, or talk to others in Chinese/Mandarin. This is the app that has helped me the most. Not only does it have flash cards, videos, voice classes, but it also has writing, pronunciation, etc! The list goes on!!

I think this is the greatest app I’ve ever laid eyes upon for a language learning app. I even volunteered to help out!

Thank you so much, you’ve made my dreams come true, and now I’m actually going to China someday!! I also want to thank my mother for talking to me about re-learning. So, thank you both :)

I upgraded to paid subscription after the first lesson

I’ve been learning Chinese on Duolingo for nearly 3 months, and after one lesson on this app I understand so much more about how to structure a sentence. This is honestly awesome!

A solid and well populated Chinese language learning app

Well equipped with plenty of graded reads and a fairly robust highlighting and text to speech system. It’s very good for sentence mining and immersion at the drop of a hat, and the immersive lessons have lots of good little gems of knowledge. This is a very well constructed app that centralises your learning to some great effect.

I much prefer Anki for flash cards, as the sentence repetition is not internally randomised in this app, and is focused on memorisation instead of association (Which, depending on your school of thinking, can harm speed of fluency) so you just wind up getting better at the questions and games themselves as opposed to gaining meaningful comprehension. In that way, I would recommend using Refold method with Anki decks for those purposes in addition to this app.

LOVE IT!!!

This app has made MANYYY improvements over the years and I still find it so effective. I started young, learning mandarin through public schooling and always considered myself a fast learner. I studied almost all school years. After graduating, I found myself significantly worse at pronunciation, some struggles with grammar and even response in dialogue. Thanks to this app, not only have I recovered all my degraded skills, but I’ve learned many new measure words to join terms with other terms that make sense in Mandarin dialogue. Thank you to the team that has made this app free for those who download out of curiosity and providing your paid option for those that wish to take it to the next level. I’ve managed to read some of the stories (which are HSK level based! HUGE PLUS!!) to continuously challenge yourself on each level and feel more comfortable with your progression as well as indulge deeper immersion by watching the learning videos to truly understand the difference in tone through dialogue and speech speed. This app is amazingggg and using it will definitely help you learn mandarin basics and create conversation comfortably. I highly encourage!!
