Bad after recent update
Writing in July 2024. Recently the app has undergone a major uplift and update. First off, there was nothing to update it was perfect to begin with. A flawless app that worked every single time. The update changed a few super minor cosmetic items but everything pretty much stayed the same. What it has added, unfortunately is a host of bugs and issues that were not there before! There are so many errors and the app is conflicted it loads and reload, it sends you duplicate text messages alerts on when you start or turn off your car. It’s completely buggy it is not as intuitive and simple to use as it was before. Why not roll it back to the way it used to be white mess with something that was nearly perfect and screwed up in the process?! Conducted survey and you will see how many things you got wrong with the recent update. It’s a shame
Touch ID settings are messed up. Keeps logging me out and asking for my sign and credentials and fingerprint a bunch of times. Duplicate and even triplicate messages. Tells me I’m out of range or have no Wi-Fi connection or signal when I’m standing in my living room on Wi-Fi. Sometimes it actually starts the car remotely, and after the car has successfully started, still sends you a message that you are out of range with the signal and have bad connection. All of these are bugs that need to be worked out please open your eyes and serve by your customers!Show lesspshayn
sell cars, not software
The car industry is full of grasping, besuited sociopaths who look at the billions made by tech companies and think, “Oh!, we can do that!” with visions of perpetual rent seeking dancing in their wee reptile brains. This app is one of many results of that kind of thinking. It is pretty much a garbage web page jammed onto a small screen and connected to an overly complicated Rube Goldberg machine involving cell towers, satellites, and janky servers. The result is that you can start your car (sometimes) and turn on the climate control (sometimes) from the safety and comfort of … well, make sure wherever it is that it isn’t too far away. This thing is geofenced to approximately 6 meters or so. Want to turn on your heated steering wheel too? Tough nuts, you petite bourgeois wimp. BUT, this handy subscription service will never miss a chance to remind you that you need an oil change. No cell signal? Useless. You can look right at your Outback through the restaurant window, baking in the scorching sun and not be able to signal it with the MASSIVE RADIO FLASHLIGHT sitting right in your hand if Ma Bell can’t see your 4G beacon. See you back here in two more years when Subaru finally realizes that Software Is Hard and shuts this thing down.Show lesschooseymomschoose
Vague remote start presets, no door lock status
Something has changed with the remote start function. I have no idea how to create a permanent preset that has the AC at full cool, not the crappy 74 degree setting that it comes with and won’t let me change. I tried to set one up but once I created it it started the car, which was sitting in my closed garage downstairs. All I want is for there to be two remote start settings that are IMMEDIATELY available from the main screen: cold air at full and hot air at full. I have no need for anything else. If I’m remote-starting the car it’s either because it’s super hot out or super cold and want the car as cold or warm as possible by the time I get to it.
Why doesn’t the app tell me if the doors are locked?
There is so much wasted space on the main screen of this app that could show much more useful information at a glance. But we get TWO buttons for “vehicle status” (which does not tell you about the lock status) and the pointless “My Trips” button. Huge buttons with little information, repeated buttons, unnecessary buttons (why do I need an “Offers & Events” button? I already bought the car!)Show lessmalnar
