  • Buggy

It connects to the computer about 70% of the time and when it does you have to wait about 1-3 minutes for it to connect. That doesn’t really work when you just want to hear a song. If you’re the kind who listens to full albums like me or just keeps one station playing it’s fine. The other 30% of the time you have to shut down Audirvana on your computer and restart it. My wifi signal is quite strong.

By the way when it fails to connect it gives you the option “Having trouble connecting to Audirvana”? Clicking on that brings you to a page called “Getting Started with Audirvana “. Uhm ... thanks.

  • Hey it works how I expect it to.

I can’t tell you how many remote apps want port numbers, MAC address or some crazy reconfiguring of my router that takes hours to do what the app wants (#%^*!? Hours!) and it still just can’t play music. Very simply play the music and this Audirvana app does.
  • Great companion to Audirvana

Works really well! It’s one of those apps where it, generally, works so seamlessly you have complete confidence in it.

I do wish that you could control the volume using the iPhone hardware, but hopefully they add this feature.
  • Incredibly Useful!

This app is working wonders with a 12 year old MacBook Pro that is feeding a 6 or 7 year old Meridian Explorer 2 DAC. This iteration of the remote app, working on a 2019 iPad Pro, is about as great as it gets. It’s not encumbered with too many details or ways to get things done. Love how I can search a band or song and have the results show up under three tabs, Library which is on an external 4TB HD connected to the laptop, Tidal, and of course Qobuz. I have some 130+ Hi-Rez albums on the disk and I love being able to instantly compare them to the Tidal Masters and the Qobuz High resolution streams. Hint, they are hard to tell apart. This app is minimalistic yet lightning quick and as I said very powerful. Plus it allows real multitasking on the iPad while using it as the remote. Older remote app would have to reconnect to the laptop every time you went to another app. Now it immediately responds to the current song playing flashing new album art instantly. Love it!

    HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

  • It is too good to be true

Some audiophiles say your speakers is the most important device in your music chain. I am going to add Audirvana right after the speakers. It makes everything sounds much better.
    Special thanks to software engineers.
  • I can be lazy from anywhere in the house!

With Audirvana installed on a Mac Mini and Remote on my iPad, it provides full access and control, except for volume, of my music library. What’s not to like? I Don’t use a streaming service so can’t speak to that at this time.
  • True hifi!

If you want the highest quality audio, then Audirvana is a great choice. However, we’re not all tethered to a laptop or pc - nor do we want to be. The addition of the remote control solves this issue and allows you to control true high fidelity music from anywhere in your home.
  • Great Companion to the Great Mac Music App

Audirvana has been a big revelation in terms of how I listen to my music library. It sounds so much better than Apple’s stock Music app. Then, several months ago, I finally jumped on the streaming bandwagon with Qobuz. I had been a holdout as I refuse to listen to anything less than lossless CD-quality tracks.

Qobuz on its own sounds great but does sound even better through Audirvana on my MBP which is connected to Chord Electronics Hugo upsampling M-Scaler, Hugo TT2 DAC/preamp and headphone amp and TToby power amp driving Buchardt S400 speakers. My headphones are an Audeze LCD-4 and RAAL-requisite SR1a so I’m a fairly serious audiophile although by no means extreme.

This remote app for Audirvana is really great. Being able to sit far away from the display and control the Mac app really completes the MBP as the center of my audiophile music system. I’m still considering getting the Roon Nuclear+ to have a dedicated music server/streamer, but I’m quite happy with Audirvana playing my local library in the MBP and Qobuz so I really don’t see the need for it - not yet, at least. This remote app makes the system quite complete. Very nice!

  • The good with the good...

It used to be that if you wanted to listen to “Hi-Fi” class music on a computer you had to put up with a terrible user interface. With its current version Audirvana has become a first class music app with first class sound, to the point that it is making me wonder which link in my playback chain is the weakest: NAD DAC&Pre, B&K Power or the B&W speakers?
    Good Show Audirvana!!!
The combination of the mac mini with the player and the remote is fantastic!!!
Next step, need to connect to a music store that allows you to download hi-res files...

  • PC/Mac Streamer

There are a lot of streamers coming out lately. But, you can use your PC or Mac as a streamer if your amp has a decent DAC. AUDIRVANA makes it so you can do this by either connecting via a USB-B or optical from your PC/Mac to your amp and play your hi-res files or use an MQA source via Tidal, amongst others. Sounds great and easy to set up. Worth the money versus buying a streamer or subscribing to Roon.
